New Okanagan fruit vendor trying our market on for size this Saturday. East Kelowna Fruit has orchards in Kelowna and Oliver. They will be able to offer a selection of tree fruits and some ground veggies as well.

 

Also joining us for the first time this season is Bob Ungar with his unique woodcrafts.

 

Live entertainment this week is by the JC Celebration Band. They offer a combination of Johnny Cash tribute and other country standards.

 

New monthly draw starts this week, see page 2 for details.

Grilled Chicken & Fresh Cherry Salsa

 

Serves 4

 

Ingredients:
1-1/2lb cherries, pitted & roughly chopped
1/2 cup minced red onion
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
2 Tablespoons chopped fresh basil
1 Tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoons Valley Gold honey
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 chicken breasts, pounded to uniform thickness
olive oil
salt & pepper

 

Directions:

 

  1. Combine cherries, red onion, lemon      juice, basil, balsamic vinegar, honey, and salt in a bowl. Place into the      refrigerator while you grill the chicken.

 

 

Brush both sides of the chicken breasts with oil then season liberally with salt & pepper. Grill over medium-high heat for 4 minutes a side, or until cooked all the way through. Let rest for 5 minutes before topping with fresh cherry salsa.
