Welcome to the Abbotsford Farm and Country Market, 2017 series.
We are here every Saturday through December 16. We’ll start with four of our remaining winter series markets and then on May 13 kick off the new summer season with live entertainment and special events.
Friesen is bringing fresh-picked salad greens, kale and green onions. Ann will also have veggie bedding plants.
New vendor joining us for the first time this week is Heartwood Products. They make cedar planter boxes.
Big Mac is joining us to spice up our first outing in 2017. Warmerdam Flower Farm will be on hand, likely with some fresh-cut tulips. And also look for the Abbotsford Community Services Garden Project with micro greens.

Market mascot, Abbie spends market days visiting with vendors. We invite our younger customers to find Abbie, come to the Market Info tent and tell us where you think you found her. If you are right, you get to choose a gift out of Abbie’s prize trunk.
Braised Kale Frittata
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, whisk the first 6 ingredients (through oregano).
2. Lightly coat an 8-inch ovenproof cast-iron or nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Heat over medium. Add the kale and tomatoes. Cook, stirring, until hot (about 3 minutes). Add the eggs and swirl to distribute.
3. Transfer to the oven and bake until set and hot (about 20 minutes). Cut in wedges
